To herald in the Holidays, HCMC has creates magic with their annual holiday show called “Snackin’ with Santa: A Tradition.” For eight or more years now (we’ve lost track), the chorus gathers together to entertain the kid in all of us! In 2009, we added the Kidz Khorus, where children who are sponsored by members are invited to sing with the chorus on this special day. Three rehearsals are held in November to learn holiday songs (three arranged by our director, Michael Gellert) that are sung with HCMC as the “back-up” singers. It’s a thrill for children between the ages of 6 -12 to be able to sing with a large chorus. One never knows what the story line for this show will be as it ranges from a giant pink flamingo searching for Christmas; a talking Christmas tree or other holiday themes with “a twist.” The show is topped off with Santa joining us, escorted by his singing reindeer and elves. In 2010 & 2011 the Grinch stopped by and rumor has it that it is on his calendar for the upcoming year!Stop back here for more information! |
